Washington allows physicians, registered nurses, advanced registered nurse practitioners, dentists, and veterinarians to prescribe medications within their scope of practice. Therefore, the only group that can have their prescriptions filled in Washington from any state, territory, or British Columbia is the group that consists of physicians, podiatrists, dentists, and veterinarians. The other options may be allowed to prescribe medications in Washington, but their prescriptions must be filled within the state itself or in specific circumstances.
